Cornerstone at a Glance

Cornerstone Countertops and Cabinetry is a countertop and cabinetry company in the Charlotte, NC area that grew through referrals and wanted homeowners who had never heard of it to find it on Google.

The company is a two-time winner of Charlotte's Best (Gold), in 2024 and 2025. That award belongs to Cornerstone and its customers; our job was to build a website that matched the quality of the work. You can visit the live site at cornerstoneusa.us (opens in a new tab).

The Starting Point: Great Work, Found Only by Referral

Before the project, almost every job came from a referral, so the schedule depended on who happened to recommend the company that month.

This is the most common situation we see: excellent craftsmanship, happy customers and an online presence that doesn't show any of it. [PREENCHER: what Cornerstone had online before, such as no website or an old site, confirmed by the client]

The Goal: Be the First Name Homeowners See

The goal was simple to say and hard to reach: when a homeowner in the area searches for countertops or cabinets, Cornerstone should be one of the first names they see.

That meant three things working together: pages that answer what homeowners search, a site fast enough to keep them on it, and proof strong enough to make them call instead of going back to the results.

What We Built for Cornerstone

We built a hand-coded website organized around the services homeowners actually search for, with real proof on every page.

Service Pages That Match Real Searches

Countertops and cabinetry each got their own page, written around the words customers use, so Google could understand exactly what Cornerstone does and where.

Galleries of Finished Kitchens

Real photos of installed countertops and cabinets carry more weight than any slogan, so each gallery sits next to a clear way to request a quote. If you are short on photos, our guide on how to take before and after photos with a phone shows the method we recommend.

A Fast, Clean Build

The site was coded by hand, without a template or a page builder, so it loads quickly on the phones most homeowners use to compare companies.

Trust Details Where People Decide

The award, reviews and contact options appear near the services, not buried on an about page. These are the same elements we list in our contractor website checklist.

The Project, Step by Step

The project followed The ETHOS Method, the same five steps we use for every client.

What Other Contractors Can Copy From Cornerstone

You don't need to sell countertops to use what worked here; these five lessons apply to almost any contractor.

  • Give every main service its own page, written in the words your customers type into Google.
  • Put real photos of finished jobs on the service pages, not only in a gallery.
  • Show your awards and best reviews next to your phone number.
  • Keep the site fast on a phone; test it with Google PageSpeed before you launch.
  • Own your hosting and accounts, so the results you build stay with your business.

Frequently Asked Questions

These are the questions owners ask us most after reading the Cornerstone story.

What did Ethos build for Cornerstone?

A hand-coded website for a countertop and cabinetry company, with a page for each main service, galleries of finished work and a quote form. [PREENCHER: package and number of pages, confirmed by Cornerstone]

Is the #1 ranking guaranteed for other businesses?

No, because nobody controls Google or AI tools. Cornerstone's result came from a fast site, clear service pages, real reviews and time. Results vary by city and competition.

Did Ethos win the Charlotte's Best award?

No. Charlotte's Best (Gold) in 2024 and 2025 is Cornerstone's award, earned by their work and their customers. We built their website.

Can a smaller contractor get similar results?

The same building blocks work for contractors of any size: one page per service, real photos, reviews and a fast site. How far they take you depends on your market.

How long did the project take?

[PREENCHER: project timeline in business days, confirmed by Cornerstone]. Our standard timeline is 7 business days after we receive all the material, for sites up to 10 pages.
