What Is a Website Maintenance Plan?
A website maintenance plan is a monthly service that keeps your site online, secure, backed up and up to date, so you don't have to.
After launch, a website still needs someone to renew the SSL certificate, watch that it stays online, keep backups and make the small changes a business needs: new hours, new photos, a new service.
The Care Plan is our version of that service. Because we code every site by hand, without plugins, it needs far less maintenance than a typical WordPress site, so we spend the time on what you actually notice: edits and advice.

How much is the Care Plan?

Is $250 a month fair for website maintenance?
Basic maintenance plans for small business sites often run $75 to $200 a month for updates alone. The Care Plan also manages your hosting, includes small edits and gives you up to 2 video calls a month with the founders. Our guide on website maintenance cost compares the options.
What happens if I cancel?
The plan stops at the end of the current 30-day cycle and doesn't renew, and your website and hosting stay yours and stay online. There are no partial refunds. The details are in our terms.
Do I need the Care Plan to keep my website online?
No. Your site works without it, because the hosting is in your name. The Care Plan is for owners who don't want to deal with hosting, backups and edits themselves.
Who owns my hosting while I'm on the Care Plan?

What counts as a small edit?

Can I join the Care Plan if Ethos didn't build my site?
The plan is designed for sites we built, because we know their code. If your current site needs work first, we can rebuild your current website and then care for it.
Can I add the Care Plan to a Landing Page?
Yes. The Care Plan works the same way for any site Ethos builds, from an $800 landing page for a new business to a full website with SEO and GEO.
