Twin Lakes Veterans Honored with Flight to Washington, DC

The backgrounds of folks who live and work at Twin Lakes are diverse, but a common thread among many residents is time spent serving our country. Four Twin Lakes veterans recently joined 100 of their peers on a trip to Washington, DC for the Triad Honor Flight. Their time in DC and return to cheering family members and supporters at PTI airport evoked many emotions, including pride. Staff writer Robby Helms of the Burlington Times-News captured it best when he quoted participant Fred Andresen: “I have a greater appreciation of us as a country. You hear so much downgrading of America. We have a lot to be proud and happy about. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave.” We’re certainly proud of you, Mr. Andresen, along with all the other veterans here at Twin Lakes Community!
