Mountain Biking
Some of the best mountain biking trails in North Carolina are located less than 10 miles from downtown Greensboro.
Tournament Town
Greensboro has hosted national championships in basketball, figure skating, gymnastics, golf, soccer and swimming, as well as Olympic Trials for table tennis.
Skate Parks
Greensboro is home to two city-maintained skate parks with a total of 140,000 square feet of skateable space. Both parks accommodate skateboards, bikes, inline skates and scooters.
Wyndham Championship
The Wyndham Championship, one of the oldest tournaments on the PGA tour, takes place at Greensboro’s Sedgefield Country Club on a course originally designed by legendary golf course architect Donald Ross.
Greensboro Grasshoppers Baseball
A 7,500-seat stadium in downtown Greensboro is home to the Greensboro Grasshoppers and features 16 luxury suites, a grandstand party deck, a kids’ playground area and fireworks after weekend games.
Aquatic Center
The Greensboro Aquatic Center hosts events in competitive swimming and diving, synchronized swimming and water polo through USA National competition levels.
Rec Leagues
The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department manages 13 recreation centers including the Greensboro Sportsplex, a 106,000-square-foot multi-sports facility. The department offers a wide variety of recreation league sports programs for youth and adults year-round.
Running
With over 111 miles of greenway, abundant local trails and one of the premier track and field facilities in the country, Greensboro is home to a thriving running scene. Our extensive network of trails and greenways are also enjoyed by walkers, hikers and bikers.
Tennis
More than 2,000 players participate in league tennis in the Greensboro area. Each year, the Greensboro tennis program runs 33 tournaments, including the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Boys 12s National Clay Courts and the Carolinas Adaptive Standing Tennis Tournament.
Truist Soccer Complex
Considered one of the finest soccer facilities in the Southeast, the Truist Soccer Complex at Bryan Park has 21 fields, one of which can accommodate 3,000 spectators.
